Zaragoza, four cultures, a lifestyle

Zaragoza, a city on the banks of the river Ebro, has always been a crossroads and a meeting point of cultures thanks to its strategic situation.

During the 2,000 years of Zaragoza's history, the Ebro has reflected on its waters the faces of many cultures as well as been a life source for different civilizations. Romans, Muslims, Jews and Christians have left their footprint in the heritage of the city and have formed with time the singular personality of Zaragoza and its inhabitants.

The very rich historic heritage of Zaragoza is the result of a mix of cultures. The visitor can enjoy, in only a few metres, the grandeur of the Roman Empire, the magnificence of the Mudejar legacy -declared as World Heritage- as well as Christian ceremonial and Jewish tradition.

As it has been pointed out, Zaragoza, thanks to its privileged geographic situation, is a must stop for resting and shopping.

The main legacy of Zaragoza -its people- has its origin on this never-ending movement of peoples and its historic evolution. Genuine, open and full of life, the people of Zaragoza not only know how to welcome the visitor but also to share their city, traditions and happiness with them.

Zaragoza has also summed up to its historical heritage new initiatives and projects for the city to become a spearhead of progress and growth.
