Seven Aragonese municipalities form part of Los Sitios de 2006 (The Sieges 2006), a group of places that work in an active way for the candidacy of Zaragoza 2016.
Belchite, Calanda, Calatayud, Fuendetodos, Jaca, Sos del Rey Católico, Tarazona and Zaragoza are leading their own international projects focusing on different theme axes:

• - Belchite: Culture of peace
• - Calanda: The creative universe of Buñuel
• - Calatayud: City of the five cultures
• - Fuendetodos: The creative universe of Goya
• - Jaca: The road to Santiago, a European communication way in times with neither stable commercial routes nor collaboration between States, and the Romanesque as the first European global art
• - Sos del Rey Católico: Ferdinand II of Aragón, the first European statesman
• - Tarazona: coexistence of cultures
